أطلقت شركة "موزيلا" الأمريكية أداة جديدة تهدف لحماية متصفحها "فايرفوكس"، من خلال تذكير مستخدميه عن تحديث آخر إصدارات المكونات الإضافية الملحقة به مثل لغة "جافا سكريبت" المستخدمة في متصفحات الإنترنت وبرنامج "كويك تايم" لتشغيل الوسائط المتعددة.
وتختبر صفحة "بلج إن تشيكر"، التي أطلقتها الشركة الأسبوع الماضي، أكثر من 15 مكوناً إضافيا. كما تخطط الشركة لزيادة عددها مستقبلاً، حيث سيتمكن زوار الصفحة من رؤية المكونات الإضافية، التي تم تحديثها وأي منها لم يجري تحديثه، إذ يظهر رابط لينقل المستخدم إلى موقع تحديث المكون.
وتشمل المكونات برامج مثل "سيلفر لايت" لتطوير تطبيقات الإنترنت و"بيكاسا" لتحرير الصور وتنظيمها وبرنامج الوسائط المتعددة "آي تيونز" و"أدوبي ريدار" لقراءة ملفات "بي دي إف".
وأوضحت "موزيلا" أن المحافظة علي التحديث الدائم أصبح ضرورة قصوي، فتأخير التحديثات يسبب 30 % من أعطال المتصفحات، بجانب أن تأخيرها يمثل خطراً أمنياً، حيث يستغله القراصنة لتثبيت برامج خبيثة علي أجهزة ضحاياهم.
وخلال الأيام القليلة الماضية استغل القراصنة برامج "أدوبي فلاش" لعرض الأفلام والرسوم المتحركة علي متصفحات الإنترنت و"كويك تايم" مشغل الوسائط المتعددة و"أدوبي ريدار" و و"ريال بلاير".
وأشارت الشركة إلي أن مكونات الجهاز الإضافية المثبتة عليه من أمثال برنامج مشغل الوسائط المتعددة "ريال بلاير" وبرنامج "سيلفر لايت" لتطوير تطبيقات الإنترنت و"أدوبي فلاش"، لن يجري التذكير بتحديثها، حيث إنها أجزاء من برامج محفوظة بالجهاز وخارج سيطرة "فايرفوكس".
ويمكن لمستخدمي فايرفوكس الاطلاع علي موقع "بلج إن تشيك" بداية من الآن، لكن تلك التدقيقات ستكون مدمجة في متفصح "فايرفوكس 3.6"، المزمع إطلاقه بحلول نهاية العام الجاري.
يذكر أن موزيلا أطلقت الشهر الماضي برنامج لإنذار المستخدمين لتحديث برنامج "فلاش بلير" بعدما شن قراصنة هجمات واسعة الانتشار باستخدامه، حيث قاموا بتنزيل آخر تحديثات البرنامج أكثر من 10 مليون مستخدم.

وتعد هذه هي المرة الثانية، خلال ثلاثة أسابيع، التي تقوم فيها "موزيلا" بإصلاح أخطاء حرجة في محركها، حيث أطلقت الشركة حزمة لإصلاح خطأ في نظام "جافا سكريبت" من قرابة أسبوعين.
